A cheerful and friendly bard with a penchant for flirting and communing with ghosts.
Pepper Pendergrass comes from worlds unknown, perhaps even to her. After years spent as an uninvited stowaway in the Boxcars, the Train has consumed many of her memories and only left her more willing to make new ones with new companions.
While outwardly lighthearted and unburdened, in private moments she makes strange charts of connections and composes mournful songs. Will the mystery of her memories lead her to come to terms with her past, or is she already too far gone?
Emporer Valerian

Sociable, conniving, and absurdly tall; Valerian is a man who believes the means and the ends justify each other, and while they’re busy doing that, he might as well have a good time.
It’s unclear how long he served as Emperor before the circus came to town, but one thing is for sure; Valerian didn’t acquire that title by keeping his hands clean, and what goes around tends to come around… it just made sense to leave.
Now, in a new world full of new faces and new magic, Valerian is playing his cards close to the vest. He’s worn countless masks in his long life – dumpster rat, vassal, emperor and tyrant – but which ones were real? And which mask will he wear next?

A bitter and neurotic little chemist afflicted by a mysterious condition that causes him to exude a smoke-like vapor from his mouth and nose in situations of emotional duress.
Hailing from a city that is rapidly changing in the wake of industrialization, Friedrich Veiss is a man of science intellectually, but socially a complete stick in the mud. Despite his uncommon intelligence, he often finds himself in hot water due to overestimating his own capabilities.
Will his research with poisons and explosives lead him to scientific triumph, or will his own corrosive personality be his downfall?
